1. My lab partner Patrick made this pretty page summing up the many parts of his productive life. I recommend that you to click through, and then publish a similar post of your own. Reading Patrick’s has caused me to take pause and consider everything I’ve promised to do. It’s time to update everyone, and yourself, with what’s going to get done and when.
As for Spurd, our company and collaboration, I’ll add that we spent Jan-Apr heads down on an idea called Forage. We simultaneously researched the industry and designed the product before we reached conclusions leading us to believe that the right business isn’t the one we set out to build — which isn’t always a bad thing, but in this case would require capital we think would be better applied to other problems. Thankfully we like our investors and they like us, and upon realizing the business limitations for themselves they encouraged us to look around for something else that excites us. That’s easy to do; It’s the picking-just-one that’s the tough part.
So that’s where I’m at professionally: trying to contain thinking about all of the granular features of digital life that could exist, and instead focus in on a concept I could dedicate a decade to.
