    I’m impressed by this mid-sized Midwestern city’s ability to execute such an impressive building. It’s the first museum to achieve a LEED Gold certification, a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council to recognize buildings that achieve a certain standard of sustainability, meaning a design that reduces the possible negative effects on the environment as much as possible and makes the most of social and economic benefits. Expect to see more and more new developments touting accolades like these, as ‘green’ consciousness continues to pervade mainstream consumerism.
